Why we started this diary

I have decided to keep a diary about unschooling since quite a few people are interested and ask me about my daughter’s education.  And if we keep a diary, we can always refer to our experience and learn from it.

My 6-year old daughter Hina used to go to school but she loves to learn anytime and anywhere rather than being in a place where she is supposed to “learn”.

Once she said “accepting the way you are is more important than being accepted by the world’s best school.”  Her words opened up our mind and think about education more.

Unschooling is a bit different from homeschooling which follows a certain  curriculum.  I’d like to talk about it sometime.

Maybe we will face difficulties such as being criticized or getting some disadvantages for not being in a school system.  But now we see more benefits for us.   We also see some benefits of being in a school too.  So we don’t say how long we’ll continue unschooling yet.  But the thing is that we are and will be always a lifelong learner.

Please feel free to comment or send us a message about this.  We are happy to talk about this with many people.   Thank you so much!
