The experience which taught me and grew me as a parent

Today, I would like to share about our memory. This was shown as my Facebook memory from last year of today.

—-April 15, 2018—-

There was a stage at Hard Rock Cafe. This place is where the professional people perform. My child happened to pass over the stage. She stopped suddenly and started to dance there. There is no audience for her, and she didn’t have permission to perform there. But my daughter just danced with music.
Then, the spot lights came on the stage, light and image effects were added. My daughter began to dance according to the effect. Effects were added one after another. Nobody thought that such a thing would happen. People eating there were delighted with this coincidence and began taking pictures and videos. My daughter continued dancing till the end of the song, and she bowed and went on stage when the song was finished . Although she was dancing for herself, it certainly was a “stage” there.
Why did she grasp such a coincidence? Is it because adults thought it would be interesting because she is a small child? I thought like this. She decided by himself to stand on stage and believed that she was a person to dance there. She didn’t dance for someone.  She didn’t dance because it was a famous Hard Rock Cafe.  She just felt the impulse to dance.
After the accidental show, she left the shop. I said thank you to the stage manager, and he returned “my pleasure”.  I was a bit uneasy when she started dancing. I thought that it was professional people who could get to the stage of Hard Rock Cafe, and I thought that she did not reach that far yet. However, I decided to watch over what will happen. Then, I regretted my thought as she finished performance. Why did I think she was not worth going to the stage? That was because “common sense” of my life was telling me so. I denied her talent and passion with my own common sense.
“I want you to do what you love” Many parents say so. However, when a child is going to the world where parents do not know, whether parents can accept it or not?
If I had had my daughter stop dancing there, she could not have had such amazing experience.
In any era of history, people become uneasy as they can not understand the behavior of young people when they become older. Because of the desire to continue to believe what we know, we will have anxiety and discomfort if we see something different from what we know. But the next generation will see the next world. It will flow as well as we think that now is different from the era of a generation ago.
